Montana

Montana contains a total of 77 named ranges of the Rocky Mountains and has the longest stretch of Canadian border at 545 miles. Native Americans were the first inhabitants of the area, including such tribes as the Crow, Cheyenne, Blackfeet, Assiniboine, Gros Ventres, Kootenai, and Salish. The part of the state East of the continental divide was part of the Louisiana Purchase and after the finding of gold and copper in the 1850's, became a U.S. Territory on May 26, 1864. Montana is the only state in the union without a modern naval ship named in its honor. Some other fun facts are that Montana is the only place in the nation where water flows from one source to three different oceans, starting at Triple Divide Peak in Glacier National Park and ending in the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean and the Arctic Ocean. Also in Star Trek: First Contact the first contact between humans and Vulcans happens in Montana.
